One-hundreth of a second.
That’s how close Trotwood-Madison came to winning the Division I boys high school state track and field meet at Columbus last weekend.
That was the difference between winner DeAver Williamson of Warren Harding (21.46) and T-M’s William Henry (21.47) in the 200 meters.
It was the 15th of 17 events Saturday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. By placing first and fourth, Harding had a team-leading 47 points, but was out of runners.
The Rams placed second and seventh in the 200 for 34 points with the 1,600 relay remaining. They would reset their own all-time, all-division record in that final event for the third straight year (3:13.05), but those 10 relay points couldn’t catch Harding, which won the team title, 47-44.

COLUMBUS — Trotwood-Madison did it again.
For the third straight year, the Rams finished the Division I state track and field meet by setting an all-time, all-division record in the 1,600-meter relay.
The foursome of Julius Ruby, Jordon Paschal, Renon Lorenz and William Henry turned in a 3:13.05. That was slightly better than the 3:13.32 that Paschal, Henry, Ruby and Michael Jordan ran in 2009.
T-M also set the record in 2008.
